The term "Roman salute" did not exist in 1892, and no one has shown any evidence to the contrary. Yet, Americans continue to display their ignorance with childish evasions of the topic and its relationship to the pledge, Francis Bellamy and American history. [The greeting to the American team was mostly enthusiastic but not comparable with the welcome to some of the other teams, which gave the Olympic or Nazi salute, The Associated Press reports. The American athletes received a bigger hand going out of the stadium than when they entered at which time was heard a noisy whistling reception which some European observers suggested was tantamount to the 'Bronx cheer.']

Athletes Face Hitler

They marched in a procession once around the arena, saluting the dais, each nation, according to its custom, as they passed; then, turning across the field, they took their stand in columns great and small in front of the Fuehrer and the guests of honor, their flags at their head.

Quite naturally, in this long march the interest was centered in the applause given respectively to each and the type of salute each nation gave the dais. The last item wasn't always easily determined because the Olympic and Nazi salutes are very similar, the former being with the right arm stretched out sidewise or nearly so from the shoulder, and the latter being with the arm stretched out in front.

Nevertheless, the crowd carefully noted each salute as indicating the degree of sympathy for the Nazi regime betokened by it. In turn also the mode of saluting had a manifest influence upon the volume of applause received.

In general the salutes stood about equally divided between the Olympic and Nazi, but "eyes right," was common to all. The Americans provided their own special salute by giving eyes right and placing their straw hats over their hearts. This salute also was adopted by China and the Philippines.

Bulgars Goose-Step Past

The Turks were the only team to give a military salute throughout. The Bulgarians drew down handsome applause by flattering German sympathies in a double way. They goose steeped past Hitler and gave the Nazi salute to boot.

The New Zealanders evidently mistook an erect German athlete in white who stood out in front, far to the left of the stand, for the Fuehrer himself, for they removed their hats for this outstanding figure and put them on again while passing the dais.

Some teams apparently did not know the difference between the Olympic and Nazi salutes and rendered mixed homage. The Nazi salute was given by Afghanistan, Bermuda, Bolivia and Iceland, besides, of course, Italy which originated it, and the Germans.

But all the flags of the nations were lowered while passing Hitler with one exception; that of the United States went by proudly borne aloft. An official statement published in all newspapers, however, explained this as due to army regulations and asked for public understanding in the matter.

Sincere Tribute to French

The biggest applause was given the French who marched by most smartly giving the Olympic salute. The crowd rose and cheered them to the echo and it was obviously a genuine tribute.
Next to the biggest applause went to the Austrians, the crowd taking interested notice of the fact that the Austrian team was divided in the matter of saluting, some holding their arms ostentatiously sidewise in the Olympic salute while the majority, including the entire feminine contingent, stretched their arms forward, in the Nazi salute.

Third in the respect of volume of applause were the Hungarians and Japanese. The Czechoslovaks and Rumanians got little if any. The Americans received a cordial if not an overwhelming welcome when their massive column appeared, but just as its head approached the dais the first of the succeeding German contingent came into sight at the Marathon Gate. Immediately the band forgot the march it was playing and broke into "Deutschland Ueber Alles" and the "Horst Wessel" song in turn. The audience, rising promptly, froze in silent attention, so that the Americans marched not to applause but to the tune of these two German national anthems.

In comparison to the above, see Norman Rockwell's "Saluting the Flag" painting. It appeared on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post published May 12, 1917. A civil war veteran merely doffs his hat in the painting, while a boy scout gives the scout's modified military salute. Rockwell did not show out stretched arms in the early American nazi salute.

Military personnel and boy scouts and girl scouts continue to salute the flag in the initial manner used during America's Nazi salute: the military salute. The difference is that they no longer stretch the military salute out toward the flag.

The Pledge of Allegiance is even worse than can be imagined by people who oppose it due to the "under God" part. When they find out how bad it is they think that eliminating the "under God" part won't improve it at all. If you are an effective writer, then do the world a favor and write a lot about the pledge to educate all ignorant Americans.

Here is some more bad news. Bellamy was a religious wacko and the pledge was only a small part of a larger published program that he wrote with various prayers, hymns, bible references, and references to god, including Bellamy's use of the term "under God." When you realize what a wacko he was (a Christian socialist), you realize that "under God" left out of the pledge was almost an oversight by him. As far as Bellamy was concerned, he would have been delighted to have the entire world not only do his pledge, but do the whole friggin semi-religious program of which it was a small part.

In the book "War Against the Weak: Eugenics and America's
Campaign to Create A Master Race" by Edwin Black, the author's
central thesis is that Nazi racial hygiene and its ultimate
manifestations in the Holocaust were imported lock, stock and barrel
from the USA, and that, indeed, it was US ruling elites who hatched
the idea of creating a master Aryan race by selective breeding and
then passed it along to the National Socialist German Workers Party.

In Zweites Buch (Second Book), Adolf Hitler portrayed the U.S. as
a "racially successful" society that used eugenics and
segregation and followed what Hitler thought was a wise policy of
excluding "racially degenerate" immigration from eastern
and southern Europe. It was a change from Mein Kampf and what caused
the change in Hitler's views between 1924 and 1928 is not known. By
1928, Hitler seems to have heard about the U.S.'s massive industrial
wealth, the Immigration Act of 1924, segregation, and the fact that
most American states had eugenics boards to sterilize people who were
considered inferior. Hitler declared his support for such practices
and desired that German socialists would follow suit. Was Hitler also

U.S.'s Pledge of Allegiance and had been so for about 3 decades?

The notorious American and National Socialist Edward Bellamy
authored the socialist utopian fantasy "Equality." The

to take over all schools in order to impose their plans in the USA.
Francis Bellamy aided Edward's conspiracy theory when Francis
authored of the "Pledge of Allegiance" to the flag. The

Bellamys believed that countries would be destroyed by diversity and
individuality, unless the government imposed uniformity and
"equality."

The arm extended straight out was an
early way of saluting the American flag during the pledge. People
would raise their right hand to their forehead and perform the
standard military salute at the pledge's beginning, and then at the
words "to my flag", extend their arm straight out. It was
not an ancient Roman salute, although that is a popular myth (The
Roman salute myth is most likely due in part to Victorian era
historians romanticizing details of ancient history).

Workers' Party (1920) by some 28 years. The extended arm salutes

is significant that the author and promoter of the pledge, Francis
Bellamy, was a self-proclaimed Socialist who wrote extensively of
a US that would nationalize all industry and conscript all men
into a full-time military which would then conquer the world.
Sound familiar? These were radical notions at the turn of the

It
is also significant that at that time (1899), John Dewey, author
of Democracy and Education, was leading a campaign to turn US
public education into an gigantic propaganda mill for
international socialism.

"Children who know how to
think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society
which is coming where everyone is interdependent."

Afterwards
the U.S. Bureau of Education wrote, "The public schools exist
primarily for the benefit of the State rather than for the benefit
of the individual." This at a time when Germany too was
overhauling its school system.

But these were not the only
connections with the pledge.

Vermont social scientists in
the 1920s and '30s devised a plan to eliminate the state's
"degenerate" bloodlines and replenish "old pioneer
stock.

The 12-year survey was developed by an independent
team of social scientists who studied "good" and "bad"
families in the state and listed those which it determined needed
to be *eliminated*.

The report was circulated among
policymakers at the time and led to the passage of a 1931
sterilization law.

Yep. The earlier work of Dewey and
Bellamy had paid off! The kids were now grown and thinking like
true socialists. The science of human breeding had branched off
from social Darwinism. Eugenics was front stage.

This law
resulted in the sterilization of several hundred poor, rural
Vermonters, Abenaki Indians and others deemed unfit to
procreate.

The model was soon adopted by other states which
over the years effected thousands of Americans. Sound
familiar?

So how is this relevant? Because the women's
suffrage movement of the latter 1800s had become a socialist
enclave which expanded the idea of birth control to population
control.

Borrowing from the work of the social scientists,
"Race Building in a Democracy" was the theme of the 1940
joint meeting of the Birth Control Federation of America and the
Citizens Committee for Planned Parenthood where it was proclaimed
about the leader of the National Socialist German Workers'
Party...

"We, too, recognize the problem of race
building, but our concern is with the quality of our people, not
with their quantity alone."

So, that committee was
aware of the goal of the leader of the National Socialist German
Workers' Party to decrease quantity while improving quality.
They differed only in priorities.

Yep. That's THE Planned
Parenthood.

A leading feminist at this meeting and a
member of the American Eugenics Society, Margaret Sanger,
attracted the attention of the leader of the National Socialist
German Workers' Party who invited Sanger to Germnay to discuss
some ideas.

The rest is history.

So, one bad deed
leads to another. Each stage sets the stage for the next
generation. Words mean things.

There is an "Annual Margaret Sanger-KKK rally art
contest." In the past, entries have included photoshopped
"recreations" of Sanger's actual work.

Planned
Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger spoke at a rally of female KKK
members, in 1926 in Silver Lake, New Jersey. In her 1938 book,
"Margaret Sanger An Autobiography" (1971 reprint by
Dover Publications, Inc. of the 1938 original published by W.W.
Norton & Company) Sanger indicates at pages 366-367 that the
she got along quite well with members of group. Here is a
quote:

"Always to me any aroused group was a good
group, and therefore I accepted an invitation to talk to the
women's branch of the Ku Klux Klan...In the end, through simple
illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen
invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered."

Sanger
advocated birth control as a means of keeping the population of
blacks in check. And Catholics. And Jews. And other ethinic
minorites. And...well, you get the picture. Her slogan, "Every
child a wanted child" was just sugar-coating for her real
designs: a world free of what she called "the unfit." As
Dale Ahlquist wrote in Gilbert Magazine:

Eugenics led
directly to the birth control movement. All the same players were
involved, such as Margaret Sanger, who was a member of the
American Eugenics Society and was the editor of the Birth Control
Review. The primary philosophy was trumpeted on the cover of the
Birth Control Review: "More Children for the Fit. Less for
the Unfit." She made it clear whom she considered unfit:.
"Hebrews, Slavs, Catholics, and Negroes." She set up her
Birth Control clinics only in their neighborhoods. She openly
advocated the idea that such people should apply for official
permission to have babies "as immigrants have to apply for
visas."

She admired Adolf Hitler, and while he didn't
care for Americans much, he liked her too.

THEOSOPHIST, containing an article on my husband, Edward Bellamy,
written by Fred Bell of the Bellamy League in South Africa, has
just reached me, and I desire to extend my thanks to you for
sending it. Many of Mr. Bellamy's most ardent disciples throughout
the world are Theosophists, and this article, we hope, may be the
means of calling the attention of others to the beauty and the
soundness of his economic philosophy towards which the world seems

another shameful episode in the history of U.S. jurisprudence, the
Supreme Court ruled in the infamous 1927 Buck v. Bell case that
the State of Virginia had had the right to sterilize a woman named
Carrie Buck against her will, based solely on the (spurious)
criteria that she was “feeble-minded” and promiscuous,
with Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes concluding, “Three
generations of imbeciles are enough.”

The United
Nations now regards forced sterilization as a crime against
humanity.

Ploetz
convinced Rudin that alcohol and tobacco were not only damaging to
individual health but they also poisoned the fitness of future
generations. Rudin can be regarded as the co-founder of German
eugenics.

"In 1890 Ploetz married Rudin's sister,
Pauline, who was studying medicine. Ernst Rudin established an
abstinence association, Humanitas, for Swiss grammar schools. Rudin
was imbued with reformist ideals similar to those of Ploetz and the
Hauptmanns. Rudin and his fellow schoolboys reinforced their
abstinence by adventorously reading Bebel on women and socialism (the
SPD's Party Congress was held in St Gallen in 1887), medical tracts
by Forel and Bunge, and the utopian writing of Edward Bellamy. There
was a vitual epidemic of utopianism. The linking of utopianism and
Lebensreform was a stimulus to biological research."

"Although
Ploetz acquired Swiss nationality, his German nationalist convictions
also intensified. In the physiological laboratory of Gaule, where he
was completing his dissertation on heredity, worked the fellow
abstinence-campaigner Fick, who was a hybrid between a democrat and a
fervent Pan-German nationalist."

"Fick persuaded
them that they could earn well in South Africa where he had spent
five years. Ploetz looked forward to being able to study bush men as
among the lowest human races. However, the couple finally abandoned
their African plans and decided on the United States, where they went
in 1890..."

Fick was involved in the founding of the
Pan-German league. Ploetz encountered a strong current of
nationalism although he chose not to become active in Pan-Germanist
agitation.

The Ploetzes settled in Springfield, Massachusetts,
where they opened a medical practice and bred chickens. The
later moved to Meriden, Connecticutt. While struggling to establish
himself, Ploetz used his free time to write a book on the potential
of 'our race' and on problems of social welfare.

Ploetz hoped
to convince emigre German socialists that there was a way to refute
Darwinist criticisms of socialism. Ploetz was in touch with Jacques
Loeb, a radically minded German biologist, who had emigrated because
of his displeasure with social conditions. Ploetz had contacts with
the Springfield Socialist Party, and with socialist journalists in
New York. Through his Zurich comrade, the Nietzschean John Henry
Mackay, Ploetz struck up a friendship with a socialist carpenter,
Adolph Gerecke, who was a contributer to German naturalist journals.
Ploetz hoped to use contacts with a German secret lodge in
Connecticutt to obtain the genealogies of its 20,000 members. He
formulated a programme for racial and social reform.

Ploetz's
choice of such an apparently unpromising place as Springfield might
be explained by the presence of the utopina author, Edward Bellamy.
Bellamy edited a newspaper in Springfield and wrote the utopian
novel, Looking Backward 2000-1887, which seized the imagination of a
vast readership. It was published in 1888, translated into German in
1889, and was popular among socialists. Perfection was the antithesis
of urban Boston of 1887: there was to be a socialist society based on
merit rather than wealth as the main spur to human endeavour. Bellamy
condemned the chaos of liberal self-interest as resulting in 'a horde
of barbarians with a thousand petty chiefs'. There should, instead,
be established an orderly society 'as compared with that of a
disciplined army under one general - such a fighting machine, for
example, as the German army under von Moltke'. State socialism was
placed on a medical and biological basis. The guide to Bellamy's
revitalized Boston was a physician, Dr. Leete. He compared the model
society to 'one family'. Marriage was to be based on love and
fitness, and the congenitally deficient would be banned from
marriage. Bellamy admired Galton's 1873 work on 'stirpiculture' (a
term pre-dating 'eugenics' first used by Galton in 1883).(footnote 65
citing S.E. Bowman et al., Edward Bellamy Abroad (New York, 1962),
pp. 151-9; A.E. Morgan, Edward Bellamy (New York, 1944), p. 158)).
The popularity of Bellamy's eugenic utopia coincided with Ploetz's
formulation of a scientific method for its realization. Many German
socialists responded enthusiastically to Bellamy's vision as offering
the basis in evolutionary terms for a classless world community or
Volksgemeinschaft.

Bellamy typified how political utopias were
reformulate in biological terms. Social reformers were convinced that
if science and medicine were judiciously applied, utopia was within
mankind's grasp.

One
such intellectual was Havelock Ellis (1859-1939), who is now best
remembered for his work in sexology. But he has a more unsavory side
to his past as a noted promoter of eugenics, sterilization of the
‘unfit’, and racial purity. In 1937 he defended Hitler’s
racial law, saying: “if properly administered, it has no
relation to ‘Aryan’ aspirations”. Ellis had much
common ground with the socialists of his day. George Watson has this
to say about it in “The Lost Literature of Socialism”:


‘ … Ellis’s “Task of Social Hygiene” …
unites Marx’s early vision of inevitable class conflict with
eugenic theory and the coming triumph of the white races. Sidney and
Beatrice Webb echoed the point in the same year in the New Statesman.
… So the socialist intelligentsia of the western world entered
the first world war publicly committed to racial purity and white
domination, and no less committed to violence.’

Havelock
Ellis writes in “Task of Social Hygiene” (1912), in
Chapter XII – Individualism and Socialism, pg. 402:


‘So it is that the question of breed, the production of fine
individuals, the elevation of the ideal of quality in human
production over that of mere quantity, begins to be seen, not merely
as a noble ideal in itself, but as the only method by which Socialism
can be enabled to continue on its present path.’

Ellis
wrote this, but it could as well have been written by a member of the
National Socialist German Workers’ Party advocating the
purification of the ‘Aryan’ race. Ellis sees ‘quality
in human production’ as a ‘noble ideal’ and
necessary for socialism to ‘continue on its present path’.
And continue it certainly did.

More from Ellis:


‘Through the slow growth of knowledge concerning hereditary
conditions, by voluntary self-restraint, by the final disappearance
of the lingering prejudice against the control of procreation, by
sterilization in special cases, by methods of pressure which need not
amount to actual compulsion, it will be possible to attain an
increasingly firm grip on the evil elements of heredity. Not until
such measures as these, under the controlling influence of a sense of
personal responsibility extending to every member of the community,
have long been put into practice, can we hope to see man on the earth
risen to his full stature, healthy in body, noble in spirit,
beautiful in both alike, moving spaciously and harmoniously among his
fellows in the great world of Nature’…

In the
same chapter Ellis quotes from a pamphlet on “Socialism and
Eugenics” by a Dr. Eden Paul:


“Whereas both Socialism and Eugenics are concerned solely with
the application of the knowledge gained by experience to the
amelioration of the human lot, it seems preferable to dispense with
religious terminology, and regard the two doctrines as complementary
parts of the great modern movement known by the name of
Humanism.”

Here we see what F.A. Hayek calls ‘the
fatal conceit’ of socialism in deeming itself the agent for
‘amelioration of the human lot’. Here we also see the
absolutely evil perversion of the meaning of language: socialism and
eugenics are claimed to be components of humanism.

Another
notable whose ideological proclivities are not talked about is H.G.
Wells. Remembered today only as a famous writer of science fiction,
he was a member of the Fabian society which led the socialist
political movement in the first part of the 20th century. The Fabians
included the famous – or infamous, depending on where one
stands on the issue - Sidney and Beatrice Webb and George
Bernard Shaw. In 1902, H.G. Wells published a work titled:
“Anticipations of the Reaction of Mechanical and Scientific
Progress Upon Human Life and Thought”. The last chapter in this
book is named “The Faith of the New Republic”.

movie "Olympiad" and other famous photography of Jesse
Owens shows Mr. Owens using a military salute during the raising of
the USA's flag and the playing of the national anthem, while nearby
Germans give the straight-arm salute. While comment has been
made elsewhere of the photographic illustration of the salute, none
of those comments point out that Mr. Owens is performing only the
introductory salute of the pledge of allegiance as it was in 1936,
and that Mr. Owens apparently did not perform the rest of the
pledge's salute, the straight-arm salute, presumably because he did
not wish it misinterpreted as a salute to the leader of the National
Socialist German Workers' Party.

How ignorant and uneducated are Americans about U.S. origins of Nazism? Here is a quote from David M. Kinchen's review of of Erik Larson's "In The Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, And An American Family In Hitler's Germany," about William E. Dodd, US ambassador to Germany in 1939 (and his later notorious daughter Martha.): "Attacks on Americans of all religions visiting Germany became common, often prompted and carried out by members of the SA or Storm Troopers. Many of the attacks occurred because the visitors didn't use the Nazi salute. One even involved Milwaukee-born German-American radio broadcaster H.V. Kaltenborn, but it -- like the other attacks -- had little effect on the State Department, either, Larson relates." That is from huntingtonnews.net

It shows how uneducated Americans are in that the quote was probably written by someone who does not know that the Nazi salute came from the USA and its Pledge of Allegiance, where attack occurred (for refusing to salute) long before Adolf Hitler followed suit. How common was the practice of attacks in America as well as in Germany? Americans were attacked, arrested, even lynched in the USA by other Americans for not performing the Nazi salute in the USA's Pledge, at the same time that similar things happened under German National Socialism. That is one of many reasons why the German attacks might have "had little effect on the state department" in the USA. There were court cases in the USA upholding the arrest and jailing of people who refused the nazi salute, children taken from parents who refused to force their children to salute and chant, children expelled from government schools for refusal. There was a U.S. Supreme Court case that initially upheld persecution for refusal to salute and chant on command. The reason the supreme court reversed itself was due to the additional persecution and violence that its own initial opinion inspired. Do Supreme Court cases mean that the practice was "common"? Was the practice of persecution more common in the USA than it was in Germany?

Eric Larson probably is unaware of that and he is the author of "In The Garden of Beasts."

It is a red herring to say that German national socialists had direct subsidies to hotels and up to at least 1938 strenuously encouraged tourism from the English-speaking world (cf. the Berlin Olympics) as part of a national programme of public relations. No one claims that the attacks that Dodd referenced were part of a national program, although that argument could be made based on Mein Kampf and in that there were German laws that compelled the gesture, just as there were laws in the USA that compelled the gesture. Prewar propaganda sought to establish that Germany was a world model for socialist order and good government. And the reality is that beating up and persecuting people happened (and eventually mass slaughter) and why would that not have included foreign tourists either by mistake or because of xenophobia or their backgrounds? Besides, what did Dodd mean by the word "common" in regard to the horrid reality of what happened?

The other poster is part of an intermittent campaign to hide the Pledge's putrid past and to hide the USA's role in the socialist mess. The other poster focused in part on the myth that German socialists borrowed the Roman salute from Mussolini (as everybody knew in the 1920s, according to the other poster) but from the American socialist Edward Bellamy (1850-1898). The other poster provides no citation to support the Mussolini myth, of course, as there is none). And "everybody knew" certainly did not include Americans who had been force to perform the Nazi salute in government schools for about 3 decades before Mussolini, or suffer persecution. Some Americans opposed changing the gesture with the argument that "It was our salute first" (and they were correct on that last point). They knew. Even if there were some people in Germany (Hitler?) who did not know that Americans had been forced to do it for 3 decades, everyone was not equally ignorant. On top of it all, the other poster is left with the obvious point: if Hitler borrowed it from Mussolini, and Mussolini borrowed it from the USA, then German socialists borrowed it from the USA. Note that the other poster has dropped the old "ancient Roman salute" myth and adopted the "Mussolini myth." Dr. Curry debunked the ancient Roman salute myth by showing that the myth developed from the USA's Pledge of Allegiance.

Also, the claim that the gesture came from American National Socialist Edward Bellamy shows that the other poster will not inform himself on the topic. The gesture came from Francis Bellamy (Edward's cousin and cohort) when Francis began his chant with a military salute that was then extended outward to point at the flag (the nazi salute evolved from Francis' use of the military salute).

Both Bellamys referred to themselves as national socialists and touted "military socialism" (their term. they wanted all of society to emulate the military). They influenced the worst socialists worldwide, including National Socialist German Workers Party and its rituals (robotic chanting to flags & leaders), dogma, and symbols (including the use of the swastika to symbolize overlapping S-letters for "socialism" under German national socialism).

Stupid news stories complain that Texas High School students performed the Mexican Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish. Consider this: Pledges of Allegiance should NOT be chanted in Spanish or English (especially NOT the USA's pledge) - Pledges of Allegiance should ONLY be chanted in German, Russian or Chinese. Stop the USA's pledge of Allegiance.

The Mexican pledge continues to be performed with the USA's early salute which was the Nazi salute, the origin of the salute of the National Socialist German Workers Party.

The Pledge of Allegiance is discussed in yet another stupid book whose authors are so blind they could not even mention the topic of the Pledge as the origin of the Nazi salute. The book is so bad that it raises the question "Do the authors have eyeballs?" Are they not physically capable of viewing the photographs and videos (see below) of the Pledge performed EXACTLY like the Nazi salute, and decades before German national socialists existed?

One wonders if the authors have access to the internet or know how to perform web searches.The photographs, video and information is all there at a moments research.

This printing was recalled after release by BSA to change to the Cub Scout salute (on page 23). The reason is found in the History of Cub Scouting, published by BSA in 1987. This is a quote from page 13: "The Boy's Cubbook for Wolf rank was published while the first packs were being chartered in April 1930. It was quickly revised to change the Cub salute. In the original edition, the salute was the Indian sign for peace, with right arm upraised, palm out. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts still use a remnant of the early Pledge of Allegiance. Scouts use a military-style salute that developed from the initial military salute of the Pledge. A stereotypical Scout website states that scouts should memorize the pledge, that the "denner" (den leader) should lead the group in the pledge at meetings, and the web site mimics government schools by providing the usual shallow propaganda about Francis Bellamy and the Pledge

Edward, Charles and Frederick were brothers, and Francis was their cousin. Francis and Edward were both self-proclaimed National Socialists and they supported the "Nationalism" movement in the USA, the "Nationalist" magazine, and the "Nationalist Educational Association." Edward inspired the "Nationalist Party" (in the USA) and their dogma influenced socialists worldwide (including Germany) via “Nationalist Clubs.” They touted their dogma of "military socialism" and the "industrial army" because they wanted all of society to ape the military.

The Gleaner article states that the goal is a congress composed of youths of all nations of the World (and many countries are listed including Germany, Russia, Italy, France and "countries of the Orient"). Here are excerpts: "It is purposed to draw together the worthiest and the most talented youth of all lands, the coming leaders of mankind that they may be led to realize, as could not otherwise be possible, the meaning and the worth of the fellowship of nations and the brotherhood of man."

The youths will "stand before the generation to follow us as witnesses of the humanizing power of the World's Exposition of 1893, and be inspired by its influence to higher and more useful careers, making the fulfillment of its great promises their noblest claim to history."

The "humanizing power" that Bellamy brought to the World's Exposition of 1893 (and the fulfillment of Bellamy's "noblest" claim to history) was the nazi salute and robotic chanting to flags daily in military formation in government schools (socialist schools). James Gilbert states: The Chicago Fair linked the utopian speculations of the late nineteenth century, particularly as expressed by Edward Bellamy (cousin to Francis Bellamy) and William Dean Howells, to the City Beautiful movement of the first decade of the twentieth century which redesigned cities following the the layout of the Fair (256). The layout of the fair was called the great "white city."

Gilbert observes that the project allowed the architects to create, “bridges between utopian planning and notions of the perfected city and the actual plans of urban architects, road-builders and transportation designers” (256). The exhibition’s designs laid the groundwork for the subsequent “House Beautiful” movement in American architecture.

The architectural choices were condemned by some critics, including one of the designers involved; Louis Sullivan later predicted, “the damage wrought by the World's Fair will last for half a century from its date, if not longer” (Chicago Historical Society).

There are ominous parallels to later plans under the National Socialist German Workers Party, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and the People's Republic of China.

Altogether, 46 nations presented 250,000 displays. It was intended to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Columbus’ discovery of the New World.

The fair was an enormous undertaking. It lasted six months. It was constructed on reclaimed swampland, bordering Lake Michigan. The fair included the first-ever Ferris wheel. It stood 250 feet tall and rotated 36 cars, each able to hold up to 60 people.

Chicago won out over proposals from New York City, Washington, DC, and St. Louis for the privilege of hosting. When the World’s Columbian Exposition opened on May 1, 1893, the Chicago was just 60 years old. It was the last world’s fair of the 19th century.

Today the only building from the "white city" (as it was called) still standing is the old palace of fine arts. It's since been converted into the city of Chicago's Museum of Science.

What happened to all the other buildings? After the Exposition officially closed, there was a big railway strike in the city of Chicago, and in the ensuing rioting, most of the 'white city' went up in flames. Whatever did not burn to the ground was demolished. The land was leveled. Later, the area was used for various purposes - first athletic fields, then a U.S. Army missile range, and then for a long period of time it was just a big flat reclaimed swampland with weeds. Now the reclaimed swampland is called a "nature preserve." Within only a couple of generations, the Columbian Exposition slid into the dustbin of history.

During the bidding for the World's Fair of 1893, Chicago proponents/politicians put on a rather verbose (windy) campaign to win the bid to host the fair. The choice was down to Chicago, New York, Washington and St. Louis, and the competition before Congress among the cities was fierce. The New York Sun editor Charles Dana wrote: "Don't pay attention to the nonsensical claims of that windy city. Its people could not build a world's fair even if they won it." (Source: Chicago Days, by the Chicago Tribune staff). Although the term "windy city" had been used before regarding Chicago, it had been a reference to its weather. This was the first time it was used regarding long-winded political claims and it grew because papers located in New York and in the other competing towns used the term repeatedly with that meaning. By adopting the symbol, American soldiers influenced the swastika as an alphabetic symbol of socialism around the world, where the symbol had previously been a generic ancient symbol.

Graduates/victims of government schools may find it hard to believe: Americans used the straight-arm gesture, wore swastika shoulder patches and flew planes adorned with swastikas in war against Germany, and they did it all decades before the same was done under the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP). The government in the United States used the fasces symbol before it was adopted by Mussolini when he was a well-known socialist writer and leader. In 1915, fasces appeared on an Indian head gold coin in the talons of an eagle. In 1916, fasces appeared on the Mercury dime. Both examples were under the democrat Woodrow Wilson (elected in 1912 and re-elected in 1916). A small crossed fasces also appeared on an obscure U..S. You might also wish to recall that Mao started out with guidance and support from Stalin, and that Stalin and Hitler invaded Poland together as allies in a pact to divide up Europe (and in an apparent contest to see who could kill the most people, which Stalin won hands down, err bodies down). In "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" a dead collector with a cart shouts "bring out your dead" and then takes and kills someone who is not yet dead.

The Monty Python scene is comedy. But under Stalin and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics it actually happened. For example in the Ukraine where Soviet Socialists stole everyone's food and abandoned them to starve to death by the thousands each day, adding up to millions murdered. Socialism's dead collectors would take people who were not yet dead (it saved a second trip the next day).

The first true news source to announce the layoff of Daniel Ruth, other layoffs and the deteriorating format of the Tampa Tribune newspaper was RexCurry.net. The paper, part of the merged Tribune/WFLA-Ch. 8/ TBO.com, has already gone through several rounds of job reductions.

Executive Editor Janet Coats communicated with urgency: “... I’m worried that if we don’t change how we think about this further it won’t matter what falls through the cracks because we’ll have no readers.”

Partial blame for the Tribune's decline goes to two writers: Daniel Ruth and Elaine Silvestrini. The mess follows mere weeks after "Daniel Ruth LaRouche" and "Elaine Silvestrini Mussolini" were exposed in public debate challenges. Silvestrini and Ruth are news repeaters. They repeat it as if it is serious, rational and important. That is what happens to "news" media in a police state. They repeat the national socialist dogma of their newspapers ("national socialist" is what "nazis" called themselves, and it is necessary to point that out in case the newspaper's readers (both of them) read this because that fact rarely, if ever, appears in the rag).

The Tribune is collapsing under the internet and under Dr. Curry's internet work (taking top spots on the web for exposing Silvestrini, Ruth and the Tribune). Silvestrini and Ruth are learning the hard way why the Tribune is losing under the web. Silvestrini and Ruth repeat propaganda as if it were the pledge of allegiance that they were taught to repeat in government schools (socialist schools). That is why they failed to make the historic discoveries that were made by the symbologist Dr. Curry, including the following:

1. The swastika (Hakenkreuz), although an ancient symbol, was used to represent crossed S-shapes for "socialism" under the National Socialist German Workers Party. Ruth and Silvestrini have been using the word "nazi" for so long that it could be described as "nazi" propaganda: The actual name of the group (National Socialist German Workers Party) never enters their heads. They have probably never written the actual name of the group in their newspaper (check it yourself). Their thinking on the topic is as shallow as repeating the pledge of allegiance. As a consequence, they never understood the significance of the etymology, the group's true name, what the group's members called themselves (they did NOT call themselves "nazis"). All of the above, combined with their desire to rehabilitate the deadly dogma of socialism, is why they could never discover that the swastika was used to represent S-shapes for "socialism" under German National Socialism.

2. That the Pledge of Allegiance was the origin of the stiff-arm salute adopted later by the National Socialist German Workers Party. They are so locked into the myths that they could never do anything but repeat shallow propaganda about the pledge. They never gave it any thought or research at all, and it would never enter their minds to try. Even if they ever heard that Francis Bellamy was a socialist in the nationalism movement, they would have been too ignorant to make any comparisons to "Nazis" because they are too stupid to know that "Nazis" were German National Socialists. If they ever even started down a mental path to such thoughts, they would have quickly stopped because of their desire to rehabilitate socialism. They don't want anyone to know, or to think about, Francis Bellamy as a socialist in the nationalism movement, and the Pledge of Allegiance as the origin of the stiff-arm salute adopted by German National Socialists.

Think of the Tampa Tribune as a torture and terrorism conspiracy (as its readers think of it; both of them). That makes Elaine Silvestrini a co-conspirator with unreadable Ruth. Ruth's use of "socialist" is telling in that Ruth covers up for the National Socialist German Workers Party and its deadly dogma. On the Tribune's fascistic flag fanaticism, Ruth and Silvestrini have been influenced by America's most notorious National Socialists, Francis Bellamy and Edward Bellamy. Ruth's economic ignorance equals or exceeds Edward Bellamy's. Silvestrini and Ruth add to the public perception of their profession as "news nazis."

A lot of fascinating research examines how socialists and their propaganda have haunted the world. Many authors worry today about a future filled with persecution and global socialism. Those worries find relevance in the enormous size and scope of government worldwide.

Through the work of socialists in the USA, the USSR, and Germany respectively, the swastika became a global symbol of socialism.

At the time that the Soviet swastika began, there existed the Petrograd Soviet of Workers' and Soldiers' Deputies, usually called the Petrograd Soviet. It was the soviet (workers' council) in Petrograd (Saint Petersburg), Russia established in March 1917. A workers' soviet had been created in Saint Petersburg (the name for Petrograd before the First World War had begun) in 1905 (the St Petersburg Soviet). This was a group of workers and soldiers who had formed in 1917. Soviets were rather like councils. Thus the "Soviet socialist" concept existed at the time that the crossed S-letters of the Soviet Swastika were used in Russia. The Swastika's two crossed S-letters symbolized "Soviet Socialism." That concept eventually evolved into the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Eventually, Soviet socialists switched from the swastika to the hammer and sickle. The hammer and sickle resembles the earlier Soviet swastika flipped horizontally. The USSR's hammer and sickle might have been intended as a visual reminder of the Russian version of its own earlier swastika.

The swastika flag under German National Socialism was influenced by the Soviet swastika and by the hammer and sickle of Soviet socialism. The swastika of German socialists and the hammer and sickle of Soviet socialists have visual similarity. Each symbol resembles the other symbol pointing in the opposite direction.

In the same way that the swastika was two "S" letters crossed to represent socialists joining together, the hammer and the sickle were crossed to represent workers joining with peasants, or factory workers joining with agricultural workers.

At that time, the swastika was also a symbol of "superior society" or the "super society of socialism" for the new "super socialist man" in the New World Order (NWO). To learn more see George Bernard Shaw "Man and Superman" (1903), read about his visit with Stalin (the socialist tsar / czar) in the 1930s, and consider this quote from his letter to Henry James of 17 January 1909: "I, as a Socialist, have had to preach, as much as anyone, the enormous power of the environment. We can change it; we must change it; there is absolutely no other sense in life than the task of changing it. What is the use of writing plays, what is the use of writing anything, if there is not a will which finally moulds chaos itself into a race of gods." Having visited the USSR in 1930s, Shaw became an ardent supporter of Stalin and Soviet Socialism. After being duped by a carefully managed tour of the country, Shaw declared all the stories of the socialist Wholecaust were slander. In private, Stalin disparaged Shaw. Shaw was asked why he did not want to stay permanently in the "earthly paradise" of the Soviet Super Society.

The Soviet swastika was unusual to most swastikas (but the same as the German swastika) due to these features: it was 45 degrees to the horizontal (in a diamond shape), it was pointed clockwise, it was squared at its corners, and it was proportionally the same as the swastika used later by German National Socialists. Swastikas can point either way and are often flat on one side. The Soviet swastika and the German swastika were the same swastika. The swastika had been used by socialist groups in Germany before 1917, however the earlier use was never the same as the Soviet swastika, and the symbol was almost always flat on one side and likely to point in either direction. When German National Socialists altered their swastika it occurred after the debut of the Soviet swastika in 1917. The definitive version of the swastika under German National Socialism (e.g. the version on the flag) was inspired by the Soviet swastika.

The Soviet swastika's unusual orientation emphasizes the appearance of alphabetic "S" lettering.

Although the swastika was an ancient symbol, the historian Dr. Rex Curry (author of "Swastika Secrets") discovered that it was also used sometimes by German National Socialists to represent "S" letters for their "socialism." The leader of German National Socialism rotated the symbol 45 degrees and had newer uses oriented clockwise. The NSGWP's use of the swastika as "S" letters in alphabetic symbolism for "Socialism" was inspired by the Soviet swastika. The USSR's swastika was seen as a union of "S" letters for "Soviet Socialist" as in the "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics" (In German: "Union der Sozialistischen Sowjetrepubliken"). After the swastika became the symbol of German National Socialists, the symbol was altered to represent intertwined "S" letters for "Sieg Socialism" (Socialist Victory) or "Socialist Solidarity" or representing socialists from different groups joining together under the NSGWP (especially after other groups were banned in another example of German socialists copying Soviet socialists).

If the acronym "USSR" used a swastika to replace the two "S" letters, then it would illustrate the symbolism of the Soviet swastika, similar to how it appeared in the center of paper currency under Soviet socialism. In 1917, some Soviet Socialists might have interpreted the symbol more generally as "Soviet Socialists" or "Union of Soviets" or "Union of Socialists" ("Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh" or "Soyuz Sovetskikh" or "Soyuz Sotsialisticheskikh" from "Soyuz Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik" or SSSR).

German National Socialists and Soviet Socialists have a history of aping each other. The flag color for German National Socialists was influenced by Soviet Socialists.

One country mimicked the other in the adoption of the salutes that they imposed on their civilians, and both countries mimicked the United States (the origin of their salutes). Dr. Rex Curry showed that the USA's early Pledge of Allegiance (to the flag) used an extended-arm salute and it was the origin of the salute of the German National Socialists and Soviet Socialists. Francis Bellamy created the pledge to the USA's flag, and he was a self-proclaimed socialist in the nationalism movement in the USA. The Soviet socialist salute is arguably closer to Bellamy's first description of the Bellamy salute because in the USSR the arm is in more of a military salute position, and maintained in a curved position as if the American salute was started but not completed. The stiff-armed salute to the flag is not something they do a lot of in the USA anymore. Back in the day, the straight-arm gesture was huge in America, but not so much now. Today, adults do not want loudspeakers interrupting them every morning to command their mechanical chanting ala the dystopian book "1984"! Nevertheless, adults allow their children to be so abused in government schools where parents surrender their children. Adults also submit on occasion to the mechanical chanting due to bullying and peer pressure.

Here is a description of the Olympic Oath in Los Angeles in 1932. Consider how familiar the act was to Americans who had been performing the stiff-armed salute in the Pledge of Allegiance for four decades, since 1892.

"The voice of the announcer sounds again. It is introducing Lieutenant George C. Calnan, of the United States Olympic Team, who will take the Olympic Oath. A tall figure, erect and military, ascends the rostrum on the field as a hushspreads over the audience. He grasps the American flag with his left hand andraises his right to the sky. All over the field the athletes raise their right hands.Then, in a loud clear voice, come Lieutenant Calnanís words : 'We swear that we will take part in the Olympic Games in loyal competition, respecting the regulations which govern them and desirous of participating in them in the true spirit of sportsmanship for the honor of our country and for the glory of sport.' "

In 1892 (the year the Pledge of Allegiance was created in the USA for the Columbian Exposition 1893 Chicago World's Fair), Baron de Coubertin gave his long speech at a conference celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the establishment of the Union of French Societies of Athletic Sports (USFSA), which favored his idea to revive the Olympics. The first revived games were the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Written by Baron de Coubertin, the oath is taken by an athlete from the host nation while holding a corner of the Olympic flag. The athletes' oath was first taken by Belgian fencer Victor Boin at the 1920 Antwerp Games. It is unknown whether the American stiff-armed salute was used by Boin in 1920.

Coubertin might have been involved in starting scouting organizations in France.

Mexico adopted socialist flag salutes that originated in the United States (from 1892). The National Socialist German Workers Party (Nazis) also adopted the U.S. flag gesture America's stiff-arm salute) after it had been used in the USA for decades.

The stiff-arm salute was not an ancient Roman salute. The "ancient Roman salute" is a myth, as shown by Dr. Rex Curry (author of "Pledge of Allegiance Secrets").

The Pledge of Allegiance in the USA originally began with a classic military salute (to the forehead) that was then extended out toward the flag. The initial military salute was sometimes performed from the chest. In practice, the 2nd gesture was performed palm down because children simply extended the military gesture outward.

The Pledge was written by a National Socialist (Francis Bellamy) who wanted military socialism in the USA, Mexico, Germany and worldwide.

Of course, all of the preceding is portrayed as a dandy utopia just as it was in the military socialist complex of the socialist trio of atrocities and elsewhere.

The book was translated into 20 foreign languages. It was popular among the elite in pre-revolutionary Russia, and was even read by Lenin's wife. John Dewey and the historian Charles Beard intended to praise the book by stating that it was matched in influence only by Das Kapital.

Another Nazi myth has been exposed by Professor Rex Curry. The book is cited by people who have never actually looked at the publication. Goebbels did not write the cover’s use of the phrase "Nazi-Sozi." It is not even clear when that cover phrase was created. Goebbels did not use the term "Nazi" nor "Nazi-Sozi" a single time within that publication.

An almost identical lie told by modern socialists in their vain efforts to distance their dogma from that of German National Socialists is that Goebbels wrote the pamphlet "Those Damned Nazis." The actual name of Goebbels' pamphlet was "Die verfluchten Hakenkreuzler. Etwas zum Nachdenken." Anyone can see that it does not translate as "Those Damned Nazis." It translates as "The cursed Hakenkreuzler. Something to think about." The word "Hakenkreuz" translates as "hooked cross" so that the phrase is closer to "The cursed hooked-cross fan. Something to think about." The pamphlet was widely distributed by German National Socialists from before 1933. It summarizes the propaganda of National Socialists in Germany just before Hitler's takeover in 1933. The booklet included five cartoons by Mjölnir, Goebbels' cartoonist. The same misleading translation probably happened in "The Man Behind Hitler" (A film by Lutz Hachmeister and Michael Kloft, wherein the voice of Joseph Goebbels is performed by Kenneth Branagh, for the PBS show in the American Experience. The film(s) provide little information about the circumstances surrounding the entries read from Goebbels' diary, and instead the narrators repeatedly insert the words "Nazi" and "Nazi Party" even though the educated viewer notices that the excerpts from Goebbel's diary do not contain the words "Nazi" and "Nazi Party" but repeatedly contain "socialist" and "National Socialists." Then an excerpt is read from the diary on March 15, 1933, "But we Nazis always agree quickly on solutions because we approach everything in a spirit of sound common sense." Based on all the other evidence in the film(s), it is a good bet that Goebbels did not write "Nazi" and that the creators of the film(s) put that word in his mouth in translating "Hakenkreuzler" (and again evading the truth about the vocabulary of Goebbels and the party, as well as avoiding any explanation of the word Hakenkreuz (instead the film perpetuates ignorance by using the misleading term "swastika" always). It raises the possibilitiy that the creators used a diary excerpt for the purpose of translating a word (Hakenkreuzler) into "Nazi" in order to deceitfully make it appear as if Goebbels used the N-word.

German National Socialists were officially known as the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSGWP or National Sozialistische of which Nazi is shorthand). The Party was originally called the German Workers’ Party, but the words "National" and "Socialist" were added to gain more members and support from other socialists including the Social Democrats, who were known as "Sozi." Even today, the Viennese refer to the "Sozi Party." The NSGWP also partnered with the Nationalist Party of Franz von Papen to take power in 1933.

The swastika was also altered to reflect the same socialist symbolism. Originally, the swastika could point left or right and was usually flat on one side as if drawn within a square. Germany's National Socialism existed before the socialist Mussolini switched to using his newer (and his final) political phrase. German Socialism began in Bohemia, not in Italy. The Czechoslovakian National Socialist Party, founded in 1896 by nationalistic dissidents from the Czech Socialist Party. They inspired Germans from Bohemia and Moravia, who created the German Workers' Party in 1913. In Vienna, Austria the name was changed to the 'German National Socialist Workers' Party' (DNSAP) in 1918.

Capitalists under German National Socialism were oppressed in the same manner as the 'patriotic capitalists' in Mao's China. They were mere bureaucrats in a planned economy, ordered to do as told, and stripped of individual thoughts and acts.

The book "Destined to Witness : Growing Up Black in Nazi Germany" by Hans J. Massaquoi contains some of the rare uses of the word "Sozi" on the Amazon book website: ".....the Social Democrats, or Sozis, by contrast, often looked ragged and undisciplined to me during their demonstrations, having chosen to project an exaggerated proletarian image....” and “....the ‘three iron arrows’ banner of the Sozis...."

The author sought intellectual escape from German socialism through reading books and in his idealization of the African-American Jesse Owens.   Yet, the author seems unaware of the fact that when before, during and after Owens competed in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, the Pledge of Allegiance to the US flag used the straight-arm salute and was the origin of the salute of the German National Socialists.

Even after his postwar immigration to the United States, the author witnessed the results of socialism’s racial inequality in the USA. His journey from Nazi Germany to the post-Civil Rights United States makes for interesting reading but it is not recounted with an eye for detail.

Francis Bellamy, the author of the Pledge of Allegiance, was a self-proclaimed National Socialist who wanted the government to take over all schools, and he wrote the Pledge to promote that goal. When the government granted his wish of socialism for education, the government schools imposed segregation by law and taught racism as official government policy. Massaquoi seems to be unaware of those facts.

Today, the flag symbolizes authoritarianism in the USA. The historical facts above explain the enormous size and scope of government today, and the USA's police state, and why it is growing so rapidly. They are reasons for massive reductions in government, taxation, spending and socialism.

Lois Wilson (as Marion Warner) is a teacher at a reservation school for native Americans. She befriends the tribal leader Nophaie (Richard Dix) and teaches him to read. She also converts hime to Christianity. She persuades him that WWI is a fight for a better world, and that afterward the Indians will be treated better. Nophaie provides horses to the Army and he and many other Indians join the battle.

This movie shows reality: native American Indians were taught the stiff-arm salute (as were children all over the country). It questions the authenticity of the so-called native American Indian greeting of "How" with the raised flat palm of the right hand. Is the Indian greeting a myth that sprang from films that were influenced by the early Pledge of Allegiance? All Indians did not say "How." Some commentary on the topic indicate that of the Indians who did say "How" the Indian term meant "Hello". According to one source the Tetons said "howo" and "ho," the Dakota had "hao" and "ho," and the Omaha had "hau". Yet the commentator fails to ask the obvious question: Were those Indian words merely adoptions/corruptions of the word "Hello"? It would add another odd layer to the fact that the word "Hello" is etymologically related to the word "Heil." Joe Smith, American: The title of the movie harkens to the "All American" family, as shown in the 1942 movie, which includes the early Pledge salute performed with the hand twisted somewhat in a "cleaned up" version of the gesture in order to distance it from that of the National Socialist German Workers Party, the enemy in the movie "Joe Smith, American." Today, politicians and bureaucrats in government schools continue to bitterly cling to the Pledge of Allegiance.

Below is another example from the 1939 Film "The Great Man Votes" (release date January 13, 1939). Notice how the flag is held low, and not on a pole up on the wall, in an effort to keep the arms down. It is also interesting to note that the person who posted the clip on youtube seemed ignorant of the early pledge gesture, and did not even make mention of it. Instead, the only mention was of the lack of the phrase "under God." That is so stereotypically the case regarding people who post comments about the early Pledge of Allegiance (and it is especially interesting in regard to atheists who discuss at length the lack of the phrase "under God" in early video example of the pledge, but never mention anything else about it, including no mention of the stiff-armed gesture staring them in the face).

They invaded Poland together, which many consider the start of WWII. Then, it is discovered that he is the only registered voter in a key precinct and the politicians, from both parties, arrive in droves bearing inducements. What he does about this situation, and the relatives who want to take his children away from him make up the story.

It is a 1939 starred John Barrymore. It was based on the short story of the same name by Gordon Malherbe Hillman.

"The Red Pony" movie shows a "cleaned up" version of America's Nazi salute from 1949 (well after WWII was over). In the film, the Pledge is being distanced as the source of the salute of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, as exposed by the historian Dr. Rex Curry (author of "Pledge of Allegiance Secrets"). The government and its government schools (socialist schools) were effective in their propaganda to cover up their truth about the Pledge even in the cinema. Even so, the film "The Red Pony" (1949) does it poorly, as it continues to show the mechanical chanting in unison, in military formation, on command in socialist schools. Note that even the original military salute (the initial salute) appears to have been dropped (the military salute was extended out and thus led to the classic palm-down stiff-arm salute). Also in this fictional film version, the arms are kept low (because the flag is placed low, and the gesture is to the flag). The arms are so low that the children are begging for handouts from their socialist government, like panhandlers asking for spare change. It fits with the National Socialist dogma of Francis Bellamy (the Pledge's author), Edward Bellamy (his cousin) and the socialist Wholecaust (of which the Holocaust was a part): the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (~60 million slaughtered), the Peoples' Republic of China (~50 million slaughtered), and the National Socialist German Workers Party (~20 million slaughtered).

What is even more amazing than the above description is that there are three or more posts of that Porky Pig clip (from the cartoon "Old Glory") on Youtube and NONE of them remark about the salute/gesture, nor do any of them criticize the Pledge as a whole. The Pledge was written and supported by National Socialists e.g. Francis Bellamy and Edward Bellamy) in the USA and it was the origin of the stiff-armed salute adopted later by the National Socialists German Workers Party, as shown in the discoveries of the historian Dr. Rex Curry (author of "Pledge of Allegiance Secrets"). The Youtube posters all ONLY criticize the phrase "under God" that was added in 1954 (the Porky Pig clip is from 1939).

That is a remarkable display of ignorance and intellectual dishonesty by the atheists who post those clips. Nazi salutes are more accurately identified as American salutes (used in the early Pledge of Allegiance three decades before it was adopted by the National Socialist German Workers Party). It would be funny if the fellow how performed the gesture argued that to the Court (that he is being persecuted for the early American salute), however he is probably ignorant of it. However, the 9th Circuit is not ignorant of it because they have a brief by the Attorney and historian Dr. Rex Curry (author of "Pledge of Allegiance Secrets") in the case of Michael Newdow v. Carey that is currently before the 9th, and that brief is visible online. That brief explains the early American salute.
